                 – Governor Neil Abercrombie declares October 1 as JTB Day in Hawaii –

"HONOLULU – JTB Hawaii, the first Japanese travel company to establish a presence in the Hawaiian Islands with the opening of its Honolulu office in October 1964, celebrates its 50th anniversary today as one of Hawaii’s leading global destination management companies connecting travelers from all around the world with the Aloha State. In observance of this milestone, JTB Corporation’s new President and CEO Hiroyuki Takahashi, is visiting Oahu for this special occasion. 
The anniversary was commemorated by Hawaii Governor Neil Abercrombie in a proclamation ceremony this morning declaring October 1 as “JTB Day” in honor and recognition of the company’s evolution from its roots of organizing the transportation and accommodation needs of Japan travelers, to its current position as a leader in providing creative and comprehensive global travel and entertainment solutions statewide.
“For more than a century, Japan Travel Bureau has worked diligently to maintain its position as a global travel industry innovator and a recognized leader in connecting Japan to the world,” Takahashi said. “We are proud to have played a part in developing Hawaii’s appeal as a preferred destination for Japanese travelers over the past five decades and I wish to congratulate the JTB Hawaii team on all of their success.”
Today, with 730 employees and offices on Oahu, Maui, and Hawaii Island, JTB Hawaii has become one of the leading global destination management companies offering reliable and high-quality travel, tour, ground transportation, and entertainment services to more than 430,000 Japanese visitors annually across the Hawaiian Islands.
